Clients and candidates in our R&C network were invited to taste and blend their own gin at Londonís Seratahall.

At Sandersonís latest networking event, our Risk and Compliance team hosted a number of close clients and candidates at Serata Hall gin distillery in East London on the 13th June. We invited them to take part in a gin tasting and blending masterclass where they tasted 6 different gin samples and then had the chance to make their own gin blends to take home with them.

Events such as these are always a good opportunity to keep in touch with our network around the country, and this was no exception; catching up with clients and candidates in the area and strengthening our relationships with them.

Our Risk and Compliance department have been operating for close to 5 years but have seen significant growth in the last few years. In light of the global financial crisis in 2008 and its far-reaching consequences, companies and even whole industries have been increasing their R&C staff dramatically, particularly within the asset management and financial spaces. The Financial Times reported earlier this year that R&C staff were experiencing booming salaries as demand for such skills was outstripping the number of available candidates.

Ben Beesley, Principal Risk and Compliance consultant, hosted the event and thoroughly enjoyed it:

ďThe evening was a great success and weíve all loved learning how to pair our gins and how to blend our own! Big thanks to Serata Hall for such an informative and enjoyable class. These sorts of networking events are always fun as it allows us to get to know our network better over something a bit different to your regular networking event and itís a chance to say thank you to them for their collaboration over the years. We look forward to hosting more events very soon.Ē
