The 6th June saw the Sanderson Finance team host an event with our local Edinburgh network.

56 North, an Edinburgh-based gin bar, kitchen and distillery, was the host of Sanderson’s Finance team networking event on Thursday 6th June 2019. The event was a chance to bring together local professionals in Edinburgh’s finance sector and to catch up with them during a gin and cheese pairing masterclass.

It has been recently reported that the Scottish financial sector has outpaced that of London in term of jobs growth; whilst London experienced a 5% growth rate, Scotland grew by 6.6%, to 161,000 jobs. Scotland’s high growth rate has been key in helping Sanderson to strongly establish themselves in the local market as a recruitment supplier – our Edinburgh office opened in 2012 and our Glasgow office has recently celebrated its second anniversary. Events such as these allow us to keep in touch with our networks and get to know our clients and candidates on a personal level.

Sanderson Senior Finance Consultant, Aisling Burke, hosted the event:

“Last night, I hosted a gin and cheese tasting event for some senior finance professionals in Edinburgh where we sampled eight Scottish gins paired with cheeses from around the world. Our host Neil was very entertaining and knowledgeable and we were converted by this combination by the end of the night!

Because of Sanderson’s growing presence in Scotland, we feel that strengthening our relationships face-to-face with clients and candidates in the area is very important. The evening was a great opportunity to catch up with my finance network in Edinburgh and I hope to arrange more events like this in future.”
