Test Automation Engineer – Inside IR35

Rate – circa £500 per day inside IR35 through umbrella.

Location – London or Coventry (once or twice a month on site)

Duration – 6 months opportunity to extend to 12 months.

We’re seeking for a talented Test Automation Engineer to join a leading retail company based in London or Coventry (with occasional travel on site).

Our client is building a dedicated Test Automation Team to ensure the seamless functionality and performance of our systems.

Role Overview:

As a Contract Test Automation Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing our test automation capabilities. Your primary focus will be on backend testing, utilising frameworks such as SpecFlow (mandatory) and Selenium (beneficial). Your expertise in hands-on coding, automation scripting, and CI/CD practices will be crucial in driving the success of our testing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement robust test automation frameworks, with a focus on backend testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of our software products.
• Build reusable components and libraries to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
• Conduct feature testing and performance testing to identify and resolve potential issues.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts by staying abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in test automation.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in testing frameworks such as SpecFlow (mandatory) and Celerium (beneficial).
• Strong proficiency in hands-on coding and automation scripting, with a preference for candidates from complex technical backgrounds.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated testing.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
