Technical Lead, Infrastructure, IT Manager (Hands-on), Systems Manager (Remote with occasional travel to Bristol)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Tech Lead for a leading professional services organisation based in Bristol. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to support in-life products, services, and projects. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-level technical focus across various infrastructure and application products, as well as aiding the deployment of new and upgraded solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive and reactive technical support for products and services.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors on technical changes, including upgrades and new product implementations.
- Conduct research to develop high-level designs (HLDs) and present recommendations to management.
- Evaluate technical proposals from third parties and ensure alignment with business interests.
- Drive continual improvement initiatives to keep technologies up to date.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Lead business continuity events and ensure readiness.
- Plan and execute regular product upgrade roadmaps.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies and legal-specific tools.
- Manage the 3rd line function, including setting objectives, monitoring performance, and overseeing day-to-day administration.
- Plan and manage the BAU programme to ensure timely removal of end-of-life services and completion of project work.
- Develop and suggest roadmaps, offering planning and recommendations to enhance IT infrastructure.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in a 3rd line application environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server environments and M365/O365, including Azure Active Directory and Teams.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, and Azure AD.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis on complex problems.

- Engagement is via umbrella company only.
- The position is remote, with occasional travel to Bristol (once or twice per month).
