QA Automation Manager (Hands on)

£75,000 and bonus scheme

Fully remote

We have an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation as a QA Automation Manager. The QA Automation Manager will set the strategy and execution of testing activities across software development by the organisation and its partners and deliver a test service that ensures quality in a cost-effective manner, including high usage of automation.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive testing strategy, covering test automation, test data management, and standards across all testing phases, including security, non-functional, and SDLC stages.
* Create detailed test approaches and plans for all projects and initiatives.
* Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication within project delivery and testing teams.
* Lead, mentor, and inspire the testing community in the organisation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Manage and guide a small team of test specialists, providing leadership and professional development.
* Identify, assess, and manage testing-related risks and issues to mitigate potential impacts.
* Ensure high-quality outcomes by maintaining stringent accuracy standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
* Oversee the creation of test plans and scripts to validate components, simulate business scenarios, and confirm expected results.
* Keep departmental procedures up to date, reflecting current activities, risks, and controls.
* Manage test data requirements in compliance with relevant policies and standards.
* Collaborate with relevant teams to maintain and deliver the necessary testing environments effectively.

Experience
* Demonstrated ability to lead and influence all stakeholders involved in testing processes.
* Extensive experience in developing comprehensive test strategies across the Software Development Lifecycle, including functional, non-functional, acceptance (operational), and security testing.
* In-depth knowledge of structured testing methodologies and processes, including risk-based testing and emerging practices like chaos engineering.
* Proven track record in testing within both agile and traditional development environments.
* Strong understanding of both manual and automated testing techniques.
* Hands-on experience with various automated testing tools.
* Proficiency in testing Windows software applications and database-driven systems.
* Over five years of IT experience contributing to the success and growth of a dynamic organisation.
