Location: Aldermaston. Expectation is three days on-site working.
Start Date: ASAP
End date: 6 to 12 months
Rate: INSIDE IR35
Clearance: DV preferred but would accept Active SC in a view of achieving DV – MUST BE SOLE BRITISH NATIONAL
Brief description of task assignment:
- Task Assignment: Concept creation and development of tooling and processes for a new manufacturing system.
- Focus: The focus of this task is to create and develop low-level concepts of mobile tooling and manufacturing processes for a new manufacturing system at a low design maturity, with a focus on design justification (optioneering, FMEA etc). This involves working with existing development teams to ensure that the concepts are feasible and meet the required standards. All work done will be on materal at a classification requiring DV. No work can be downgraded.
- Deliverables: Concept tooling and processes with supporting design justification.
Key experience/ skills:
- Design to Manufacture (D2M) experience of tooling or equipment including requirements capture and presenting at design reviews
- Experience in PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis).
- Experience using NX or relatiable CAD software.
- Knowledge of materials and their properties
- Knowledge of design, components, tool design and manufacture
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, MRP/ERP
- An understanding and application of UK Health and Safety Legislation in a Manufacturing or Production environment including quality standards, best practice and procedures
- Experience of applying Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Continuous Improvement, Quality Tools and Model Based Realisation.
- An ability to produce or assist in the production of Manufacturing Documentation (designs, drawings, reports, specification and operating instructions)
