Linux Support, BASH, Application Packaging

Contractor required for a leading company based in central Bristol.

Engagement is via umbrella company only.

Hybrid working – 2 days per week on site.

The successful applicant will be part of a team packaging complex software for PC Linux terminals running Red-Hat 8 derivative Rocky Linux 8.

Responsibilities will include regular meeting participation and staff engagement as part of delivering and deployment of these packages.

You will also provide day-to-day support and specialist Linux administration as part of the IT Support team by way of Incident and Service Request tickets.

Responsibilities include: Building systems, troubleshooting OS, application and connectivity issues. There may also be involvement with specialist systems or servers where a risk adverse approach is required to protect data. Physical PC setup and connectivity.

Skills and experience required: –

• Bash scripting
• Ability to write new and adapt existing scripts will be vital.
• Experience with packaging tools highly beneficial.
• Specialist Linux desktop and server support
• Red-Hat/Ubuntu systems admin knowledge is essential.
