CICS Engineer, fully remote

The successful candidate will join a team that manages an IBM Mainframe and Mid-Range estate. You will ensure ongoing performance of the hardware, upkeep of Operating Systems and maintenance of third Party software.

You will have a sound understanding of the principles of resilience, operability and security, and how they relate to CICS.

The environment encompasses CICS and MQ support for connection and processing for applications sitting on the Mainframe.

Please note: engagement is via umbrella company only.
Services can be provided on a fully remote basis.

General responsibilities: –

• Upgrading Test and Live CICS environments
• Working with Change and Project Management to plan and deliver upgrade.
• Applying enhancements to security and resiliency of the CICS environments.
• Exploring and testing efficiency’s within the CICS set up.

Skills & experience required: –

• A solid understanding of the principles of resilience, operability and security, and how this relates to CICS.
• Experience planning, preparing and delivering upgrades.
• A broad understanding of the surrounding IT infrastructure e.g. hardware, networking, data, middleware.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
