Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive database administration experience across both MS SQL and Oracle database technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) 5, 6 and 7
  • Ability to install, configure database binaries
  • Backup/Recovery procedures and scripting experience
  • Experience of Database Replication
  • Database Server Clustering and failover
  • Knowledge of MongoDB Sharding
  • High Availability (ORACLE RAC, MS SQL Always ON)
  • Disaster Recovery experience
  • Ability to write and maintain scripts to automate DBA tasks - PowerShell, Unix Shell Scripting
  • Experience of database monitoring tools e.g. ORACLE Cloud Control, HP Ops Manager.
  • Troubleshoot database related issues
  • Ensure data security and integrity of databases
  • Perform routine, periodic and proactive operation and monitoring
  • Optimize and tune database performance and SQL queries
  • Experience with Virtual and Physical platforms
